Introducing Amy Gravatt...

Amy is a 32 year old mum and vet nurse, who has been riding competitively for 27 years.

During her equestrian career she has represented Northland and Whangarei on numerous occasions in Eventing, Showjumping and Dressage.

In 2002 Amy with her mare Arrabella represented New Zealand in eventing in the Trans-Tasman young rider team at 2 star level.

Over the past 8 years Amy’s focus has been on showjumping and together with several horses she has produced herself she has had many wins and placings up to 1.40m.

In 2010-11 season Amy together with Bocelli finished 2nd in the New Zealand Pro Amature Rider series, unfortunately Amy lost Bocelli half way through the series.

The 2012-13 season saw Amy take a break from competition while pregnant with her son Oliver. But she resumed competitive riding in September 2013 and had success on Casali and Ake Ake in many classes up to 1.35m including 4th in Pro Amature Rider of the Year.

Amy enjoys the challenge and rewards of producing her own horses and definitely has a soft spot for Thoroughbreds.

Amy’s Husband Aaron is very supportive and helps maintain the property at Ake Ake. Her parents Jon and Karen Sprague have always encouraged  Amy with her riding and continue to do so. Karen looks after Oliver while Amy rides or gives lessons.
